~ Blood Transportation Drivers~Transport blood & related products from the American Red Cross Lenexa Kansas Distribution Center 8053 Bond Street, Lenexa, KS 66214 to area hospitals. You will drive a Red Cross owned and branded vehicles; Gas and tolls are covered by the Red Cross. You will need to pass a motor vehicle background check. This is a critically needed position, many different shifts available.
~SAF or Services to Armed Forces Volunteers~ Volunteers needed on Whiteman AB for various days/shifts MUST have a military ID. May live in and around Sedalia, MO area.
~Blood Ambassadors - For blood drives in the local area. Position assists with reception and hospitality and provides customer service to blood donors during a shift of approximately 4 to 6 hours. Can be 14 yrs and older.
~Pillowcase Project Presenters - Delivering the Pillowcase Project presentation to school-aged children 3rd-5th grade or our new program, Pedro the Penguin, to children in K-2nd. Will work in collaboration with Preparedness team who will set up appointments. Must have previous teaching experience and an ability to speak in front of and keep the attention of young children.
~Smoke Alarm Installation - We always need teams to go out and help us install the FREE smoke alarms that we provide to our local communities. A great, ongoing project for sororities, fraternities, scout groups, church groups, philanthropy groups, etc. Our nationwide, smoke alarm installation, Sound the Alarm event begins in late April through early May and we need folks to help us install during a couple of weekends. Spanish speaking volunteers are especially needed!
~DAT (Disaster Action Team) Volunteers - Respond to local disasters to assist families and canteen. Also, work with clients to complete disaster recovery casework. Disaster Recovery volunteers is a virtual position and can be done from home. All DAT volunteers must pass a motor vehicle background check and be at least 18 yrs. old.
~Steady State Shelter Workers - Assist with obtaining shelter agreements and help set up/or staff a shelter during a disaster. (Great opportunity for churches of all sizes to get involved).
~Virtual DAT Recovery Caseworkers – Can be done from home, must have a reliable and fast computer, good follow up, caring attitude and demeanor. Will be working with folks who are recovering from a disaster situation.
~Virtual Volunteer Screener – Can be done from home but initial training will be done at the Kansas City, MO office. Must have a reliable computer and have a friendly, warm way of speaking with and interviewing potential volunteers. There will be an initial phone interview with our lead screener.
