Pay: 58 Cents/dispatched mile (loaded & empty), with stop pay
(Live unloads and drop and hooks at customer stores are paid. Drop/hooks at DC’s and company yards are not)

Description: Seven Sons is looking for 3-4 quality drivers to join our team. Primarily we are looking to add a few OTR drivers. We are leased to Premier transportation, hauling mostly retail with some exceptions. For OTR, it is a mixture of drop and hook and live unloads (probably falling a little more on the D&H side, most weeks). Miles are 2000-3000 per week. For loads you would deal with Premeir’s dispatch - they will learn how you run, harder runners end up with more miles consistently. If you constantly run late, they are not going to stack loads on you. If you are constantly on time and asking for the next one, they will work hard to keep you loaded. Loads are sent via the peopelnet ELD. Dispatch will also call and explain loads when needed. You will have the number to their office, they have a team of dispatchers to assist. They send loads to me typically as well so I can keep an eye on what you are planned on. I can assist with issues when need be. Premeir also has their own 24 hour breakdown line whenever there is an issue with a trailer. So load issues and trailer issues will primarily go through premier, and any issues with the truck will come through us at seven sons.

Hiring area: Seven Sons is located in Olathe, Kansas. There is a Premier DC across the street from us. Drivers that live near Kansas City are ideal, however not a must. We will also consider OTR drivers that live within a couple hours of Indianapolis, Chicago, St Louis, Springfield MO. If you do not live near these areas but feel like you are a quality candidate, feel free to reach out and we can see what we can do!

Running lanes: Premier has trucks that run pretty much everywhere from KS/NE through to the east coast, and all the way south to Florida from there. Our OTR drivers are mostly ran out from their Indiana customers however. Near Indianapolis is 2 large customers, our OTR drivers are often running loads out of Indiana, throughout the Midwest, and then reloaded back that direction. It does vary, we do go to other places, but outbound Indiana and back is the most common.
(Premier also has a DC here in Olathe KS that services stores in KS/MO/NE/IA. We have drivers running these lanes every day, but currently are not busy enough to hire more regional drivers here. They are much busier towards the end of the year, so there will be opportunity to run more regionally out of the KC area down the line).

Hometime: as mentioned, looking for 1-3 weeks out. If you need home weekly that shouldn’t be a big issue from any of the above mentioned areas. 2 weeks is preferred, but we’ll work with you. While I also mentioned living in KC is ideal, Indiana will also be a location that will give you good opportunity for frequent home time.

Background: Seven Sons use to have our own authority operating upwards of 70 trucks. In 2021 we started our own repair shop to work on both our own trucks as well as outside customers. Over the last few years with the downturn of the market, we turned our focus much more heavily to the repair side and downsized our trucking operation. We are now around 20 trucks, and closed down our authority and leases our trucks into Premier (whom we had already been working with for a few years). We do as much of the maintenance on our trucks ourselves as we can. We also have a couple tow trucks of our own - any significant repairs that would leave drivers stranded, we go after the truck ourselves, and don’t leave you hanging around.
