We’re hiring experienced Ditch Witch HDD Drill Operators and Locators to join our crews immediately.
What you’ll do
Drill Operator
- Safely operate Ditch Witch JT-series rigs and vacuum trailers
- Perform pilot bores and backreams to plan; mix drilling fluids; manage returns
- Read prints, follow bore plans, maintain daily bore logs/as-builts
- Set up/tear down, pothole existing utilities, expose conflicts, and adjust paths
- Load/unload material, pull in conduit/fiber, restore sites
- Daily equipment checks; report issues; keep rig/trailer clean and organized
Locator
- Walk out routes and white-line paths; identify conflicts
- Use Subsite/compatible locating systems to track head depth/pitch and communicate with the operator
- Pothole and verify utilities; adjust plan to avoid strikes
- Maintain accurate bore logs and as-builts
- Assist with setup, mixing, vac, and pullbacks as needed
What you bring
- 1+ year recent HDD experience (Operator or Locator); Ditch Witch/Subsite preferred
- Strong damage-prevention mindset; knows 811/One-Call and safe potholing
- Can read plans, run rods, and communicate clearly on head position and corrections
- Valid driver’s license; clean MVR required for driving roles
- Able to work outdoors in all weather, lift 75 lbs, and work 8–12 hour days as needed
- CDL A (or ability to obtain) is a plus; mini-excavator and hydrovac experience a plus
Schedule, pay, and perks
- Full-time, Monday–Friday with occasional Saturdays; overtime after 40
- Pay DOE: $20–$30/hr (Operators and Locators) + OT
