Seeking a lead singer to join our 2ks pop punk/rock cover band that has aspirations of playing out and gigging 1-3x a month, and have a gig booked in early July. Would be awesome to be able to play some guitar too. Active lead singer just took a job opportunity to move back home out of state, which leaves us searching for a replacement. Current members include a bass player, drummer, rhythm guitarist and I (guitarist). We are motivated, own pro gear, including full PA, and have a rehearsal space in Lenexa. The band practices at least once a week religiously and we all take the time outside of it to learn new songs and get parts down pat. We've been playing for a while now and decided it's time to take the step into playing live. Somewhat have set list already established (We're open though and expect your input on songs as well).
Band covers/influences include: New Found Glory, Breaking Benjamin, My Chemical Romance, Yellowcard, Sum41, 30 sec to Mars, The Used, Bowling for Soup, Lostprophets, The Starting Line, Foo Fighters, Good Charlotte, Linkin Park, Story of the Year, Jimmy Eat World, All American Rejects, Crossfade, Blink182 and so on. Could be open to doing originals later on.
A little about us and our story......we are a group around 25-30 years old that's been in and out of bands of multiple genres since our late teens. Few of our bands have played out but as time has gone, the band life dissolved and real life happened (kids and jobs). We’re light hearted, kind, open and fun that carries no drama and laugh, joke, and hang out after a good practice is a good way to describe us. We're "seriously not serious", serious about the band but not serious personalities.
What we are expecting: A drug and drama free devoted musician that will make an effort to learn, remember songs and show up to practice CONSISTENTLY, not afraid to call each other out if they make a mistake and/or need practice on parts, will help each other out and not take it personally, around the same age as us and actually likes and know the genre of music, a good sense of humor, stable job (not playing for the $$ right now, but could one day), and to be able to take and dish out jokes to each other and not be offended. Practice space is in Lenexa, must have reliable transportation back and forth. We do usually throw back a few drinks each practice, chip in and buy a bottle or case to drink every week but not get too wild.
If this is you and think you'd be a good fit, shoot me an email with bands that you like / influence your style, and why you think you'd mesh. Thanks!
