Alternative folk / punkgrass band seeking a melodic instrument to add to the sound. Something to add some tasteful pad/texture in spots the vocals are the focus, fill in the non-vocal gaps with licks/countermelody and take the occassional actual solo break or passage.
Very open to any type of intstrument that can accomplish that. We've historically had a violin/fiddle player for it, but are absolutely open to anything that could fill the role. Accordion, mando, clarinet, sax, other woodwinds or brass, etc.
Very vocal focused group (lots of group vocal singalong kind of stuff), so cool if you can do that as well, but certainly not a requirement.
1x week practice year round, show "season" tends to be spring/summer/fall. 95% original material with the occassional "off the beaten path" cover thrown in. We record along the way as well, with 1-2 releases a year.
Very laid back, fun and agreeable people/approach. Age range of members is 40s & 50s currently, but we don't really care at all about that. Any age is welcome. Just want to make fun and good music with good people.
