Up for sale is a late 80's Ibanez Jem777VBK. 1987.
If you are looking, you know what this is. Japan made and almost 40 years old.
The guitar is in great shape other than a few mods. I had added a Roland GK pickup no longer installed so it has three holes, 2 of them by bridge pickup, one on lower body. I have the original pups. Installed are a Steve More bridge, original middle pickup and an air norton in neck. The PUPS were installed professionally as well as a professional setup.
The one main and interesting mod is the Tremol No. This was a prototype specific to this guitar I purchased direct from inventor at the time. It can be setup to float, fixed and drop only. I modernized the guitar for recording purposes. The frets have plenty of meat on them and were replaced or installed by the guy who built Les Claypool's first bass. (Carl Thompson, who lived an hour or so away from me when I lived in Ct ) It plays and feels better than the original frets. Which are the same spec.
It's a player guitar and is ready to go. Also comes with Levy leather strap along with strap locks.
The case is an Ibanez that comes with it. I would rate the guitar in a 8 out of 10. Normal scratches but very clean for it's age. I.e taken care of, but played! It looks much much cleaner in person...just trying to be honest but not make it sound like it's all scratched and dinged up. It's not. At all.
Price is negotiable, but this will only go up in value as it's not rare, but they don't make these anymore!
I have all the original parts.
Thanks for looking.
