This is a 1906 Wm. Knabe & Co. upright piano, built in Baltimore during the golden era of American piano manufacturing.
Knabe pianos from this period are known for their powerful bass, singing midrange, and solid, overbuilt construction — and this is a larger upright, not a spinet or console. The tone is deep and punchy, with real presence.
I’ve owned this piano for years and have carefully improved and regulated it over time, preserving its original character and maybe giving it some of mine. The craftsmanship in these early Knabes is immediately obvious once you sit down and play it.
The piano was last tuned two years ago and has been played regularly.
I will include a free first tuning after delivery, once it has settled into its new home.
A recent video is included showing the piano being played so you can hear the tone and see the instrument clearly.
It’s a well-built early American piano with a full, resonant tone and a feel you don’t get from modern uprights. Come play it
