I have owned this bike for almost 15 years and take it out about once a month to keep it fresh. About 7 years ago I installed new piston rings and replaced the pushrod seals. Since then I have simply ridden it.
It starts and runs flawlessly and smoothly. Brakes are outstanding. Suspension is plush. All electrics are fully functional. 1974 is the last year that BMW had a kickstarter as well as electric starter. The Michelin tires will need replacement in the next year or so.
