Looking For the Right place to grow (Kansas City)

I'm a humble but critical hardworking male from this growing city. I'm currently between places due to an attack from an ex which has propelled me into uncharted know as abstinence. So that transition vested me to become a leader in business to which I've been groomed since an early age. I'm currently a traveling musician, and also I have a voucher that provides me an $875 living amount payable from a local agency. My first pick lead me into a not so great situation where as to the initial neighbor became a stalker and my unit was frequently breached unknowingly by the apartment manager which lead to an illegal eviction brought on because I had evidence of the malicious intrusions by the managing party.
The agency that provided the voucher sided with me because=of the checks and balances I provided during this episode of outrageous mistakes brought on and into my life.
I've grown to become very successful but never really thought of the situations that would be out of my control due to said advances.
I'm praying that my next home will not take me into a series as such as I've experienced.
My finances have been stretched undoubtedly so the application fee and deposit are not doable now since my savings have been depleted.
This is why I'm stepping out under the microscope with this posting.
The only provisions are the zip code has to be a Kansas City one. I really would love a stand alone house or a high rise destination since I'm stepping into travel so security is a key factor going forward.
