Zurich is currently looking for an Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter Management Liability. As we are expanding, we are looking for candides to work out of our following locion: Missouri Virtual Office, Overland Park, or St. Louis. We are open to remote work for the right candide loced any where within the U.S.. As a Management Liability Underwriter, you will be responsible for utilizing your sales/marketing, relionship building and analytical skills to analyze and underwrite new and renewal business for Financial Lines Products (Directors and Officers, Employment Practices Liability, Fiduciary Liability and Crime Insurance) for prive, nonprofit companies.  

This is a market facing position and we are looking for someone with a strong sales mindset who will proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities, as well as identify growth opportunities.  Building strong relionships with retail distributors (agents and brokers) and our customers in support of business retention and acquisition of new business is a key responsibility of this role. Identifying growth opportunities by determining our customer’s insurance needs and providing the right solutions will also be a critical responsibility of this position. 

Key Accountabilities of this role:

• Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, ring manual rules, and insurance laws and regulions.
• Develop, maintain & collabore with Line of Business representives and other business-reled needs, as approprie.
• Develop and maintain relionships with distributors (agents & brokers) in support of business retention and acquisition and works with customers and distributors (agents & brokers) to determine their insurance reled needs and provide solutions.
• Support the organizion's sales culture by being a Help Point for agents, brokers and customers.
• Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities.
• Complete detailed opportunity assessment with key distributors to identify growth opportunities.
• Qualify accounts to meet with the organizion's appetite, balanced with sound business opportunity.
• Make broker/customer and on-sight calls with a planned and well-prepared purpose.
• Mentor team members.

This role will be filled either the Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter Level. The hiring manager will determine the approprie level based upon the selected applicant’s experience and skill set relive to the qualificions listed for this position.

Basic Qualificions:

Underwriting Specialist:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
  OR
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area
  OR
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an associe degree and 1 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area
  OR
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an associe degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area
  AND
• Knowledge of line/s of business and the legal and regulory guidelines
• Knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business
• Experience with Microsoft Office

OR

Executive Underwriter:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
  OR
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area
  OR
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an associe degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area
  OR
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an associe degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area
  AND
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Experience working on time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business
• Experience working in a team environment

Preferred Qualificions:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Strong verbal and written communicion skills
• Strong relionship building skills

Your pay Zurich is based on your role, locion, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compension. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. If your expections are above the listed range, we still encourage you to apply—your unique background mters to us. The pay range shown is a nional average and may vary by locion. The combined salary range for this position is  $75,000.00 - $165,000.00. The proposed salary range for the Underwriting Specialist is $75,000.00 - $125,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set 10%. The proposed salary range for the Executive Underwriter is $100,000.00 - $165,000.00, with Global Specialty Incentive Plan bonus eligibility set 30%.
