My lab is a country dog and has never liked being inside. He is only brought inside during tornado warnings and is carried (yes, I said carried) to the basement. He would be great outdoor security. I have worked with animals and have a great appreciation for them. I would prefer that there were no other large dogs on the property because my lab does not play well with strangers (other large dogs). Both dogs are well-trained.

I come from a security/law enforcement background and can give references, job history, etc. I have been in KC for about 6 months and I am employed. Non-smoker. I have a drink about 3 times a year, tops. I have alcohol that's been in the cabinet for 6 years. (Kind of afraid to drink it now. :-) I can tell you more about myself later.

A separate bathroom would be nice but like I said, I can't be picky right now. My biggest concern now is getting a place so I can have my lab back living with me. He is homesick and I miss him. Unfortunately, apartment owners don't allow outdoor-only "kids".

I am seeking a roommate to search for an apartment with, I am flexible on the exact date but would like it to happen by the first of December (the sooner the better, but can discuss). I am completely open as to who I live with; sexual preference, race, age, not important in the least.

Cliffnotes on me that you may like to know before responding:

*I just moved back to KC from New York, I had been living there for a little over three years working as an event coordinator. I do contract work here right now, currently managing a brand launch through the beginning of November and from there have a few shorter ones. I may be traveling a bit towards the end of the year. I will also be starting school in January.

*I have a dog, possibly two dogs by that time. I currently have a chihuahua who chills in my room (or on a lap if allowed). Does not bark, yip, shit on the rug or possess any of the traits typical to the breed. She was a rescue but I have had her for 6 years. I have looked at a litter of Mastiff/Boxer mixes and I would like to adopt one. You will get all the joy of a puppy with none of the responsibility or work. I have a strong background working with rescues (primarily with pit bulls in Brooklyn, behavioral modification and home placement) and I am assertive with my dogs.

*I am a mid 20's responsible female. My parents are here and would serve as consignor for wherever I wind up although I have not needed their financial assistance in 7 years its always good to have that back-up.

*I enjoy drinking, not to the point where I will come plowing through your door with a lampshade on my head but I like to stock a home bar. After a long day of work I like to relax with a few brews or a cocktail. I also cook, primarily vegetarian food and have no problem sharing if what I'm preparing appeals to you. I'm not adverse to having people over on occasion but I'm not one to "bring the party home."

*Furniture wise, I have most of what we would need for common areas, a couple like-new couches, tasteful tall top dining table, lamps, kitchen goodies. In the event you are lacking these pieces, no big deal. I don't watch tv though, as a side note.

What I Ask of You:

*Be prepared to share in cleaning duties. I am not a huge fan of having a "chore chart" kind of scenario but if we both take the initiative and take care of tasks as needed it won't be an issue. Also be the type of roommate that if the toilet paper is running low, you'll buy some. I like these things to just be shared but not necessarily all spelled out.
*Please either be employed or a student with a cosignor.
*I have no aversion to smoking, just do it outside (on occasion I do) and contain your butts to a designated area.
*I don't care if you bring people home, just don't run a prostitution ring out of your bedroom. Or have loud wall shaking sex on nights I'm home. Or have a significant other that spends more nights in your bed than in his/her own.
*Please like dogs. This is a situation for someone who likes dogs, not someone who just tolerates them.

That got a little wordy, I know but I would like us to both do due diligence to ensure we are compatible. I have found some true raging lunatics to live with via Craigslist and really want to make sure whoever I wind up with doesn't cause that to be patterned behavior. I am willing to live in any area that is in close proximity to downtown.
