You have misconstrued a lot of points in my last post. Allow me to dumb it down for you:
1) The Discovery Institute gathered 600 signatures from people that question the Darwinian theory. This may or may not be all of the scientists that believe in Intelligent Design, but it must be a lot because this is often promoted by the Discovery Institute as a great achievement of something important. In fact, I think someone even posted the actual list here to rebut my claims. In reality, that is not a lot of scientists. However, it is the only statistics we have on the topic, so they will have to do. I am sure that if there were other scientists that backed Intelligent Design, they would be involved with the movement, supportive of the Discovery Institute and they would have signed their name to the idiot list. What would a biologist that believes in intelligent design even do for a living? What would they learn since they already know that it was created by a super being? If it was created, then the rest of God's claims must be true so he must be able to intervene in our lives, which means the whole medical field is useless and all we need to do is pray more! I think you may have something with this ID thing after all. The Dark Ages was such a great time in our history that it might be fun to repeat it!
In reality, science has found a completely naturalistic way that things happened, completely eliminating the need for a super being. All the data and all the observations agree that evolution is the way that human beings came to be on this planet. Like it or not, that's the reality of the situation we're in.
2) In case you didn't notice, the study used the 1987 Newsweek study as a base and then used statistics to figure what it would be equivalent to now. Even if the figures are rounded, the point is still valid that the percentage of scientists that believe in ID is very slim.
3) Just because a scientist accepts evolution doesn't mean that they aren't a Christian or don't believe in God. I am not sure how you drew that conclusion, unless you are diluted enough to assume that every person that believes in God also believes in a literal Genesis. Even the most prominent scientists such as Ken Miller still claim to be a Roman Catholic, and yet he is one of the leading supporters of evolution and is arguably doing more than anyone to progress it. Most scientists or intelligent people simply stick with religion because of tradition rather than because they believe that God is watching us and is going to judge us after death.
