I expect the reubuttal from my less than worthy friend that Bush administration officials were told by CIA Director Tenet that it was a "SLAM DUNK" that Iraq had WMD's. (This is the party line....)


Only one problem with that. George Tenet says something different. Like, um, "No. I didn't say that."

Tenet specifically rebuts the Adminstrations allegations. In fact.......he says they didn't know for sure, but that because Iraq had used them in the past, it would be easy to build public support for the war based on WMD's, even if they didn't know for sure. But they THOUGHT they'd find them, but THEY DIDN"T KNOW.

That, my friends, is lying about WMD's in the hope, a sucker's bet, if you will, that they were there. But we, as a Nation, do NOT DECLARE WAR based on a sucker's bet. Well, Bush did, but WE DON"T.
