Okay, Leawood....so is the problem that I ask questions that, if answered, would require an admission that I'm correct? See, as for the Nobel Prize winning economist, there was a reason that question was asked. BS came out and said there weren't people who are smarter than us supporting it. I guess I should've just said, "Yes, there are. One is a Nobel Prize winning economist named Vernon Young."

The reason I ask the question is that I am trying to get us to a place of further understanding and agreement. I can say it, and get no response, but if I assume that someone agrees with it without them saying they do, I get accussed of putting words in peoples' mouths, and I don't want to do that, either.

I don't make a statement and then not back up my reasons for believing it. By saying that nobody smarter than us endorses the FairTax, it is like saying that we shouldn't, either. But for me to show that there are LOTS of people who are smarter than us endorsing the plan, and getting no response from the person who made the allegation in the first place, the discussion doesn't move forward.

I ask for people to SHOW ME how I'm wrong. I ask for people to tell me what ideas they have that are better than the ones I support. Trust me...if I find a plan that is better than the FairTax plan for bringing jobs here and improving our economy, I'll shift my support entirely to that plan. So find the plan. Tell me about it. Illustrate for me why it is better and I won't have to ask questions to verify that we can agree on something that should be obvious.

I'm cool as a cucumber, my friend. I'm confindent because I have nothing to hide. I'm willing to admit when I'm wrong if someone can and will take the time to show that what I say is false. Some things are just opinion, but when it comes to facts, shouldn't we be allowed to ask each other to acknowledge a fact? That is when we can move forward and try to find solutions to benefit our whole country.
