Sean & Christian, long time friends and partners in a plastic surgery office, are put to the test when Christian (the self-destructive playboy plastic surgeon), unbeknownst to Sean (the family man going through a crisis of conscious), accepts drug money to perform a surgery on a Colombian drug lord who is on the run. Sean's issues at work are further completed by his problems at home and his tenuous relationship with his wife, Julia, sending him into a full-blown mid-life crisis.
Episode 2 – Mandi/Randi
As Christian is haunted by images of Julia and his ability to perform sexually, his duties as a doctor are put to the test when identical twins come to him for surgery to look different from one another. After Sean encounters a sexy female psychologist, Grace, he declares to move out and experience life as a single man while his marriage with Julia continues to worsen. Matt's insecurities about his penis grow when his girlfriend finally sees it.
Episode 3 – Nanette Babcock
After Sean misplaces an instrument inside a very good client, Mrs. Grubman, Christian is forced to clean up the mess in the only way he knows how. Meanwhile, Christian and Grace have to deal with a mentally unstable patient, Nanette, who wants extensive surgery before her high school reunion. Sean and Julia are shocked when they find that their son has taken his penis problems into his own hands.
Episode 4 – Sofia Lopez
When Sean and Christian decide to perform an operation on an aging porn star it influences their lives more than they could have imagined. Christian takes Matt to a porn party where Matt learns how to be with women, Sean is motivated to spice up his sex life with Julia. Meanwhile, Julia follows her desires to go to medical school.
Episode 5 – Kurt Dempsey
An encounter with an ex-lover leads Christian to a sexaholic's meeting and with Grace's help, Christian begins to re-evaluate the way he treats women. Meanwhile Julia's plan to go back to school is questioned when she and Sean are forced to deal with being unexpectedly pregnant.
Episode 6 – Megan O'Hara
When Christian's prize possessions are vandalized, he contacts the women he has wronged in search of the culprit. The trip down memory lane causes him to examine his behavior toward women. Sean finds his life invigorated after an encounter with a new patient trying to reassemble her life. Vanessa asks for Matt's help to revitalize her relationship with her girlfriend Ridley.
Episode 7 – Cliff Mantegna
As Christian struggles with being in a monogamous relationship with Kimber, his feelings for Julia are revealed when he unexpectedly runs into one of Julia's friends at a party. Meanwhile, Sean and Julia explore their feelings for other people when Sean gets a massage from his former patient Megan O'Hara and Julia convinces Sean to hire Jude as an intern. At home, Julia finds Matt in bed with two girls, and is force to confront her son's behavior rather than ignore it.
Episode 8 – Cara Fitzgerald
After discovering that a patient lied to him in order to have work done to mask a crime, Christian is forced to take matters into his own hands. Meanwhile, after causing an accident with his friend Henry, Matt's conscience drives him to enlist Sean's help in caring for the victim whose mother won't allow treatment for religious reasons.
Episode 9 – Sofia Lopez Part 2
When Dr. Bobolit makes Christian an offer he can't refuse, Christian is forced to reevaluate his relationship with Kimber. Meanwhile, as Julia gets personal with Jude, she discovers that he may not be the person he appears to be. Sean finds out that there are serious repercussions to his actions when he takes the next step in his relationship with Megan O'Hara. Meanwhile Liz makes a new friend when she helps Sofia Lopez through a life changing decision.
Episode 10 – Adelle Coffin
Christian's skills are put to the test when he and Sean are forced to go through their re-certification. Meanwhile, Sean is forced to be honest with himself when Megan O'Hara's health takes a turn for the worse. When Mrs. Grubman and her new boyfriend come in to be "freshened up", she discovers that she needs a purpose in life.
Episode 11 – Montana/Sassy/Justice
After performing a routine operation on a patient, Sean and Christian have their hands full when they discover that the patient suffers from a multiple personality disorder. Christian has to make a life changing decision when Gina reappears with shocking news. Matt and Henry must deal with the fallout of their accident when a recovered, and now beautiful, Cara Fitzgerald returns to school.
Episode 12 – Antonia Ramos
Sean and Christian operate on a patient that brings them face to face with an old friend. Julia bonds with Sofia Lopez. Christian and Gina continue to come heads over how she handles her pregnancy.
Episode 13 – Escobar Gallardo
In order to facilitate his drug smuggling operation, kingpin Escobar Gallardo is ruining Sean and Christian's lives as he continues to force them to perform illegal surgeries for him. Julia decides to take action when she suspects Sean is having another affair due to the "late night" surgeries he has been performing for Escobar. Flooded with Escobar's patients, Christians finds the financial future of their practice in jeopardy, especially after rival plastic surgeon, Dr. Merrill Bobolit, intensifies his marketing assault on McNamara/Troy. Meanwhile, days away from giving birth, Gina's anxiety about Christian's ability to be a father grow. Matt's guilt over the Cara Fitzgerald accident boils over.
