Wanting to relocate (to kansas city maybe!)

I am a person looking for a different route for me and my young one. Some people may say oh your hiding something and you shouldn't run away from your troubles. you should deal with them. But Thats not it....
I want to relocate to kansas because the rent is way cheaper than here where im from, I know there is black people there, (not being racist at all i'm just saying) and I could see myself there....
So my purpose for wirting this is just asking if there is someone some what normal, sane, who would not take advantage of me, or decide you wanna pull a nutty and off me, im just tryingto do some research to find out about kansas.
I am very much open to communication but i pray i interact with the right people and not a demon.
