These are from the organization The John Birch Society (you can do a search for this organization to learn more about them ~ I cannot post their link here). They are a conservative organization that promotes God & Country plus Preservation of Individual Rights and National Independence through Restoring the Constitution and Getting Us out of the UN.
These magazines contain a lot of good information about our government and how it effects us as Americans. I don't necessarily prescribe to ALL their beliefs, but I do find most of their articles informative.

Preserving Individual Rights & National Independence
The Declaration of Independence established the independence of both the original 13 American colonies and the United States of America that they together formed a decade later.
The Declaration proclaimed that our personal rights come from God, not from government.
The John Birch Society endorses the timeless principles of the Declaration of Independence. The Society also labors to warn against and expose the forces that seek to abolish U.S. independence, build a world government, or otherwise undermine our personal liberties and national independence.
Restoring the Constitution:
The Constitution of the United States of America instituted the government that secures our God-given rights.
The John Birch Society endorses the U.S. Constitution as the foundation of our national government, and works toward educating and activating Americans to abide by the original intent of the Founding Fathers. We seek to awaken a sleeping and apathetic people concerning the designs of those who are working to destroy our constitutional Republic.

The US Sets the Standard … in Lack of Privacy!
"Anyone, particularly anyone living in 'the West" — that is Great Britain, the United States, etc. — who thinks that they aren’t falling prey to random surveillance might as well employ a rather well-known Sopranos technique and "fuhgetaboutit!" As the Surveillance Studies report states, routine surveillance in these societies is "unremarkable" and will stay that way.
This is a point emphasized by a new report. In the most recent survey of "Leading surveillance societies in the EU and the World," the United States gives new meaning to the hackneyed chant, "We’re Number 1!" According to London-based Privacy International (PI), a human rights group formed in 1990 as a watchdog on surveillance and privacy invasions by governments and corporations, the U.S. now has an "endemic surveillance society."
At minimum the 2007 PI report confirms, in spades, previous reports suggesting that the U.S. was moving toward implementing a thorough surveillance state. Nevertheless, even with my background in researching and writing on the subject of privacy and surveillance, I was still taken aback to see the relative comparisons between the U.S., the UK, and everyone else. Even as I stated in my TNA surveillance cover story, that "the UK is now the world’s most watched country, having upwards of five million closed-circuit TV (CCTV) cameras keeping a watchful eye on the public, with the average citizen being caught on camera around 300 times per day," I was unprepared to see the stark comparisons. (Yes, I’m a slow learner!)

This amazing book was written by Bernard Lewis. It gives you insight into the realities of this subject, past all the rhetoric we hear on from the media...be it the left or right wing spin. This was a required reading in a college class I had recently. It's a very quick read and incredibly educational.
