Condition-wise, the Singer is good but not perfect. The black lacquer finish (called 'japanning') is dull in some areas, and where my mom ran the fabric under the needle, the gold decoration is nearly completely worn away, but everywhere else it's intact and nearly perfect. The tension belt is badly decayed and definitely needs to be replaced. As it's sat unused in my garage for several years, I would strongly recommend that the next owner have it cleaned and oiled at an authorized Singer service center prior to using it. It worked the last time my mom used it and it turned on last night, so there are no problems there.
The carrying case itself is in fairly good condition. One of the latches is broken off, but the other one is fine and works perfectly. The material around the bottom of the outside of the case has pulled away, and it is somewhat musty on the inside--not uncommon according to my research.
Pricewise, this is at the low end of the range for this particular machine; those in perfect condition go for $500 or more. Serious inquiries and local buyers with cash only, please.
